All stone tiles & porcelain tiles & mosaics & borders:
Manufacturing defect-free guarantee. For natural stone, this is strictly limited with production processes, it does not in anyway cover the natural structure of stone or natural colouring/shading/pattern/design that might be present in the tile. Please also refer to understanding natural stone.

Not only do we source our stone from quarries all over the world, we produce some too. That makes us one of the only flooring companies in the UK to be involved in the whole process. We hold more than 50,000 m2 stock carefully acquired natural stone including travertine, limestone, marble and slate, all of which have to adhere to strict quality criteria. That means you’ll never have to wait for your quality stone order. As we cut out the middleman, you get the benefit of cheaper prices. And if you do happen to find the price cheaper for the same product anywhere else, we’ll simply beat it.

Why Floorell will never sell Chinese wood

At Floorell we only believe in selling the highest quality products. As experts in the flooring field we are continuously looking out for new products that we can add to our range. We are also aware of any products that our competitors stock. Recently there has been a huge flood of Chinese wooden flooring into the UK market. Unfortunately, although it’s cheaper than many alternatives, it certainly comes at a price.

Reasons we don’t stock Chinese wooden floors:

1) There are no warranties or guarantees available on Chinese wood, in comparison to our range which comes at least 15 years product warranty.

2) The quality is far below any of our criteria- in respects of consistency and structure.

3) The standard industry thickness of solid wood planks is 20mm thick, but the majority of Chinese wood available is 18mm, this means that Chinese solid wood cannot be used as structural flooring material. 

4) The average length of a plank wood we provide is mostly over 1.7m, the average Chinese length is about 500mm. This would create problems installation-wise as heads of planks may come within 300mm of each other, which would create ongoing problems with the floor after installation like movement and squeaky noises. 

5) In our expert opinion the lacquer and finish on Chinese wood is not sufficient to provide a protective layer to the floor surface.

6) There are many growing environmental concerns in China and the way they manufacture wood. Much of the wood is actually made from illegal supplies.

7) The majority of their flooring is made from fast growing, high yielding species such as poplar, paulwonia, fir, cedar, eucalyptus and pine. Therefore European oak is far more superior than that of Chinese.

It is for these reasons that we do not allow our prices to be compared to Chinese wooden floors, only to other stockist of Boen and Grundorf flooring in the UK.
